Pedigree: The Goldings are the traditional Old English hop. Develops by clonal selection from Canterbury Whitebine in 1790.

General Trade Perception: The Kent Golding is the undisputed finest ale hop in the world used extensively in kettle hopping and for dry hopping.

- Beer Styles: All English style Ales, Belgian-Style Ales
- Maturity: Early to Mid Season
- Yield: 1500 - 1800 ka./ha. or 1350 - 1600 lb./ac.
- Growth Habit: Start slow and finish strong
- Disease Reaction: Sensitive to Downy Mildew and Hop Powdery Mildew and highly sensitive to Hop Mosaic Virus infection.
- Cone-Structure: Fairly loose and lax, medium to large in size.
- Pickability: Tendency to shatter especially if too dry.
- Aroma: Mild, extremely pleasant and gently hoppy
- Lupulin: Palish yellow and only moderate amounts
