Willingham Nurseries - Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions specified on this page are specific to orders on our website and for delivery to the UK. Placing an order constitutes your acceptance thereof. Your statutory rights are not affected by any of these terms.

Our Commitment

Willingham Nurseries is committed to supplying high quality products to gardeners and growers for personal use and not for resale. In accordance with the established custom of the trade, Willingham Nurseries will in no case be liable for more than the actual amount paid for a particular product on sale.

We will endeavour only to have products on our web site that are in stock and available for ordering. Varieties that are unavailable will be listed as such and will not be selectable. Should a specific variety not be available at the time of despatch, Willingham Nurseries will include a substitute where possible or send the item when stock becomes available. If no suitable substitutes are available, Willingham Nurseries will send a credit. Should there be a delay of more than 2 weeks with the delivery of your order, we will do our best to contact you with a revised delivery date. Your contract will be with Willingham Nurseries, Grange Lane, Willingham by Stow, Gainsborough, Lincolnshire DN21 5LB. Despatch of the product by Willingham Nurseries constitutes the acceptance and commencement of our contract to supply.

Distance Selling Regulations

In accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations, you have the right to cancel your order at any time up to 7 working days after receipt. Please note that this does NOT extend to perishable items including living and bare root plants.


We accept Visa and MasterCard credit/debit cards for online orders. Please note that your account will be debited on receipt of order at Willingham Nurseries. If you wish to pay by cheque you will need to post your order to us. If your card issuer or bank refuses to authorise payment to us, we will contact you for further instructions. We will not be liable for any resulting delay or non-delivery. Refunds are only payable to the purchaser of the goods.


All prices are correct at the time of entering the information onto our web pages. However, Willingham Nurseries reserves the right to change prices at any time. All prices include VAT if applicable.

Most plant orders are shipped within 5 working days of receipt of order. We make a charge for postage and packing (P&P). All such P&P charges are shown separately and added automatically to your shopping basket. We aim to keep postage charges to a minimum and they are subject to review and change at any time. Endangered Species

Willingham Nurseries will not knowingly offer for sale endangered species harvested from the wild or any genetically modified products.


All rights, including copyright, in Willingham Nurseries web pages are owned or controlled by Willingham Nurseries. In accessing Willingham Nurseries web pages, you agree that you may only download the content for your own individual and non-commercial use. You are not permitted to copy, broadcast, download, store (in any medium) transmit, show or play in public, adapt or change in any way the content of the Willingham Nurseries web pages for any other purpose without the prior written permission of Willingham Nurseries.

Third Party Information

We cannot be held responsible for material displayed on third party websites or any other written material. The only prices that apply for Willingham Nurseries products are those stated on the Willingham Nurseries website. We are not able to vouch for the reliability of prices quoted by shopping directories or on other third party websites.

Receiving Your Plants Order

We will ship your plants to you at the best time for planting. The sooner you can plant them up after arrival, the more successful you will be. We recommend that you prepare your soil ahead of time so you are ready to plant, or pot on, as soon as your order arrives. Please ensure that you open the packaging immediately upon receipt, and carefully read through the instruction leaflet provided. Orders are sometimes sent in more than one package so please do not be alarmed if you do not receive your entire order on the same day.

Customer Care

We strive to provide the best possible products and level of service we can, but we are all human and occasionally we may fall below our own high standards. Our experienced Customer Care staff are there to assist you if you do encounter problems. Their aim is to respond promptly and efficiently to all comments to ensure you receive 100% satisfaction at all times.

Our Personal Guarantee to You

We promise to supply products in prime condition. If for any reason you are not 100% satisfied upon receipt of your order, please advise us by email or in writing within 14 days - this allows for a replacement to be sent promptly. In exceptional circumstances, we will issue credit vouchers or a full refund. Our liability is restricted to the value of the goods ordered. We cannot accept responsibility for items which fail to grow due to extreme weather conditions, over- or under-watering, or which have not been cared for according to the easy-to-follow instructions supplied.

Our Shared Responsibility

We promise to supply you with vigorous, healthy products in prime condition. We only ask you to plant them according to the growing instructions provided to enable you to get the best possible performance from them. We do understand that when dealing with living plants, occasionally problems may arise despite our mutual best efforts. In these instances we ask you to draw the problems to our attention so that we may help wherever we can. However, if you have not followed the instructions provided and your plants do not grow properly, while we may share your disappointment, we regret we cannot share your loss. We promise to do our job to the highest standards, and we rely on you to use your best endeavours to achieve the optimum results.

Plant Propagation

Plants supplied by Willingham Nurseries have been grown under strict quarantine conditions from virus-tested mother stock. In order to maintain the highest level of bio-security and to avoid infection by diseases that could seriously affect the UK hop industry, we request that plant material is not used for propagation purposes. We reserve the right to refuse to supply anyone who we know or suspect is in violation of this condition.
