Single hop Bullion from Ascot Ales - a copper coloured IPA with a bitter, zesty aroma and flavour.

 

  • Pedigree: Bittering hop. One of the earliest high alpha hops in the world. Raised in 1919 in England from a wild Manitoba female crossed with an English male hop. Mainly bittering Stouts and Dark ales.
  • General Trade Perception: A good high alpha variety normally used for bittering.
  • Possible Substitutions: Brewer's Gold, Chinook, Columbus, Galena, Northern Brewer.
  • Beer Styles: Darker beers, stout.
  • Maturity: Late season
  • Yield: Moderate, 2,000 - 2,400 kg./ha.
  • Growth Habit: Vigorous.
  • Disease Reaction: Susceptible to Downy Mildew, resistant to Verticillium Wilt.
  • Pickability: Good.
  • Lupulin: Dark yellow.
  • Cone Structure: Medium size, compact.
  • Aroma: Strong and zesty with blackcurrant characteristics
