  • Pedigree: Hersbrucker was a natural selection from the Hersbruck district in Hallertau, Germany. Because of its low co-humulone level it is considered a Noble hop.
  • General Trade Perception: Hersbrucker is a world renowned and much sought after variety. Its mostly used for the finishing in German and Bavarian style Lagers and Pilsners, and has also made its place known in Hefeweizens, Dunkles, and Bock beers.
  • Possible Substitutions: Hallertau, Mount Hood, Liberty.
  • Beer Styles: Pilsner, Lager, Dunkle, Light Ales, Wheat Beer, Alrbier, Weizenbock.
  • Maturity: Late
  • Yield: About 1400 -1800 kg/ha.
  • Growth Habit: Vigorous.
  • Disease Reaction: Susceptible to Downy Mildew. Resistent to Verticillium Wilt.
  • Pickability: Good.
  • Lupulin: Dark yellow, fairly abundant.
  • Cone Structure: Medium-sized cones.
  • Aroma: A mix of fruit and spice mixed with floral notes.
